Christmas Party – An Evening of Music Hall and Comedy with Matthew Crampton

Come and join us for our famous Christmas Party! This year we welcome Matthew Crampton who’ll be entertaining us with his music hall themed show for the first half of the evening, and we’ll be having floor spots and singalongs with club regulars for the rest of the fun-packed festive shindig!

Matthew Crampton is a singer, storyteller and writer. Tonight he brings his lighter side, performing music hall, variety and comic songs, plus some traditional folk songs and monologues. Expect lots of chorus singalong and bad jokes. There will also be ‘festive elements’ and bizarre mash-ups. (You have been warned).

‘An enchanting evening of songs, monologues, and jokes. When blessed with the charm and personality of Matthew, one can get away with most things.’ Hector Gilchrist reviewing Matthew Crampton at Sidmouth Festival

Matthew’s more serious work includes co-adapting The Transports, which he toured twice with a folk supergroup including Faustus, The Young’uns and Nancy Kerr. He has played many festivals with words&music shows such as Human Cargo and Living By The Sea. Matthew has written books on subjects as diverse as Hebridean fishing, slavery and making sweets. Previous careers include being a speechwriter, dramaturg, masseur and finance director. matthewcrampton.com
